Basement practice?

If I want to practice shooting in my basement, am I safe with a CO2 gun? Is it better to go with a spring gun? What about being accurate?

Anyone recommend any models? I'm looking at handguns, of which I don't have any now.

We used to shoot BB guns (air guns) in the basement when we were kids. If you have a box filled with papers, you're good to go. I don't think you'll have any problems.

FYI, I wouldn't recommend this, but a guy I know used to shoot .22 rifle downstairs. He had good ventilation, which was important.
