Well I can't believe the wife let me add another one to the collection. If you're counting its the second one of the year. I'm thinking this adding one a month suits me just fine! I wanted to pick up a larger caliber handgun to try and do a little hunting with. I was kind of mixed on the caliber but decided on a 44 Mag so that ammo would be a little easier to find if I ever got into a pinch. I went with a Ruger Super Redhawk. I like that it came with rings and they seem to be fairly stout setup. I will be adding a scope soon. I was only able to get six rounds off before the game tonight. I've never really shot large caliber handguns before and found this one is quite fun. Its a bit to hang onto but still pretty fun. The grip on this gun in my opinion is very nice. It feels very comfortable in my hand. Sorry for the crappy picture but its all I had time to get. I'm thinking a nice hunting holster rig is in order now. Going to try and do an entire belt/holster rig. I'm going to shy away from bullets on the belt for this one as it will be used strictly for hunting/stalking. If any of you use a scope on a handgun I'm looking for some suggestions.

Nice piece. Have always like Ruger (have a security six 357 & a P90) Wouldn't mind getting a large revolver. Couldn't help but notice that it looks like your in the passenger seat. Was that stipulation, you get the 44 and she gets to drive .

She just knew I couldn't keep my hands off it until we got home so she volunteered. What a great wife!

Do you reload for that? Would get pricey otherwise!

I will be reloading. I bought about 100 rounds of ammo to get me started with some brass. I have a feeling I'm going to have to buy cheap ammo or brass. I don't have any friends that have a 44.

I hear .44 special is pleasant to shoot. Have thought about getting a Taurus wheelgun to carry that.

I'm told the 44 mag will shoot 44 special as well.

Kinda' like the 38 spl/357 mag. I've never owned a 44 spl, but my son-in-law does and he really likes it. When you get ready to start reloading, get hold of me to see what I have for dies. I try to pick up dies so that I can sell near new ones for around $25 a set.
