I know there are some Public Ranges @ County Conservation areas etc., what are some good ones?
I've been to the range in Reinbeck which isn't bad, they have a 25 yard pistol bay with some tables and if you have your own stands there's plenty of room to bring targets in closer.
They also have a long-gun bay that has target holders @ 50 & 100 yards. Pretty sure they have a trap/skeet area as well.
I've heard good things about Steamboat near Eldora but have not been there yet.

Reinbeck's the only one I've been to...nice enough but watch for the mud when it's been wet out!

It's been over a decade ago that I was there, but I remember there was a range somewhere between DSM's Southridge Mall and Indianola. I remember they had cement pipes (the kind you put under roads for drainage) that you would shoot through, followed by a large hill of dirt behind.

Is the small park named Arney Bend still open to shooting? It's somewhere in Marshall County. Haven't been out there in 20 years, though. Used to go there with my dad.

Being not too far from where I live, Banner used to get my foot traffic. Banner used to be a fairly rough place back in the day.....dirty both in the mess and with some of the criminal behavior going on back there. These days it is really nice, an actual facility. They have done a lot of work back there.
