I have been thinking about purchasing a used Glock police trade-in. Has anyone done this before? What was your experience like? I have seen a few ads online. One I'm interested in is a used Glock 22 from Summitgunbroker.com. Here is a link to it: www.summitgunbroker.com/Glock_23.htmlThe price is really cheap. Just $319, plus FFL transfer fees. Thoughts?

Price-wise, those look like a really great deal. The only downer is that "Karnes County Tx" is etched into the frame, from what I can see.
Glocks tend to keep running and running. Police trade-in guns are generally carried a lot and shot little. They also tend to be well-maintained by an armourer. If you can live with the scratches, I'd say go for it!

I own both a Glock 17 Gen 3 and Glock 22 Gen 2 police trade ins. Just like baccusboy already stated they might have a lot of finish wear and such but they are shot very little.

My favorite duty weapon was a Sig 226, and it came from a LEO. Prior to that, I carried a Smith mod 66 that was an x hiway patrol trade in. Can't say that I have had a bit of problem with either. Don't really care for the Glock. Have shot several, but they don't really fit my hand. Beside that, you can do things with a Sig that you can't with a Glock. Like, the Sig will shoot from a Beretta magazine. You do have to hold the Beretta mag in place, though. (Don't ask me how I know this!!)

Generation 2 guns don't have finger grooves and have different checkering than the Gen 3 models. Other than that I'm not aware of any other differences.
edit: I like the ability to have a light on my gen 3, I keep a Surefire X300 on it for home defense.

Good to hear. Do Glocks age well?
